1. Pilot : Candidates holding Certificate of Competency as Master (Foreign Going) with one year experience as a MasterlChief Officer.
2. Marine Engineer: Candidates holding Certificate of Competency as 1st Class Engineer (Motor) or (Steam & Motor) with one year experience as Chief Engineer.
3. Marine Officer: Ex-MbPT Berthing Officers holding Certificate of Competency as Master (Home Trade).

The appointment can be on regular basis or on contract basis.
Reservation is 2 for SC, 2 for ST and 4 for OBC (all backlog) in post of Pilot and 2 for SC, I for ST and 4 for OBC (all backlog) in post of Marine Engineer and applies for appointment on regular basis. In case of Marine Officer, the appointment will be purely on contract basis.
