Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the recruitment against following vacancies in Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Punjab as per Performa appended below:

1. Senior Assistant(2); Pay Scale 10300-34800 Grade Pay 3800
Should be Graduate of a recognized University with five years experience of working on the post involving
noting and drafting and who qualifies the Departmental test prescribed by the appointing authority.
2. Legal Assistant (20); Pay Scale 10300-34800 Grade Pay 3800
Should be Law Graduate from a recognized University and should have an experience of legal work for a minimum period of two years
3 Statistical Assistant (2); Pay Scale 10300-34800 Grade Pay 3600
Should be Graduate of a recognized University with five years experience of working on the post involving noting and drafting and who qualifies the Departmental test prescribed by the appointing authority.
4. Junior Scale Stenographer(9); Pay Scale 5910-20200 Grade Pay 2800
Should be Graduate of a recognized University & Qualifies a test in Punjabi Stenography to be held by the appointing authority at a speed specified by the Govt. from time to time.
5 Steno Typist (11); Pay Scale 5910-20200 Grade Pay 2000
Should be Graduate ofa recognized University ,Qualifies a test in Punjabi Stenography to be held by the appointing authority at a speed specified by the Govt. from time to time.
6. Clerk(133); PayScale 59lO-20200 GradePay l900
Candidate should be graduate from recognized University or Institution or its equivalent
7. Manual Assistant(31); Pay Scale 5910-20200 Grade Pay 1900
Candidate should be graduate from recognized University or Institution or its equivalent with one year experience in Mechanical workshop.



ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
(i) Candidates should possess at least 120 hours course with working experience in the use of Personal Computers or Information Technology in office Productivity applications or Desktop Publishing Applications from a Govt. recognized institution or a reputed institution which is ISO 9001 certified OR A computer Information Technology Course equivalent to ‘O’ level certificate of DOEACC of Govt. of India
(ii) Should have passed Punjabi subject upto Matric standard. However in the case of Ex-servicemen, riot victim persons or members of a family of a person killed as a result of terrorist action in the State ; the person if selected will have to pass Punjabi of Matriculation standard withìn six months from the date of joining the service, if they do not possess it already.
(iii) The candidate should possess the above mentioned qualifications on or before the last date of receipt of applications. Candidates not possessing the essential qualification shall not be considered.

Job Age Limit :
Candidates should be between 18 to 37 years as on 31/Ol/2011 . Upper age Limit is relaxable to the extent of 5 years for Scheduled Castes/Tribes/Backward Classes and upto 1O years for physically handicapped persons. An Ex-servicemen shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of the Union from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy according to Govt. instructions, by more than 3 years he/she shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit. Applicants in Govt. service shall be eligible upto 45 years of age. Govt. Servants must send advance copies of their applications in the prescribed form alongwith requisite/fee and copies of certificates by the prescribed date. However they will be considered for selection only if their applications through proper channel are received or “No Objection Certificate” from the department concerned is furnished at any time before the selection process

Selection Procedure :
Selection wìll be based on written examination only. There will not be any interview. The merit will be prepared on the basis ofthis written examination only. The question paper will be provided in English and Punjabi, it will have 1 - 50 questions each carrying one mark as perthe details given beow .-
I) Language Proficiency (Punjabi-1 3 question+English-1 2 question)
Il) General Knowledge
Ill) Mental Ability
IV) Mathematical Skills (with Matric as the difficulty level)
For the appointment of Legal Assistants listed at Sr No. 2 above, instead of questions of Mathematical skill, there shall 50 questions of Legal ability. However, law graduates can also appy for the rest of the posts advertised.

Note: There shall be ¼ negative marking for each question attempted incorrectly. Minimum qualifying marks for candidates of all categories will be 35% (Thirty-Five percent) of the total marks. In case some qualifying candidates obtain equal marks then for selection, preference will be given to a candidate with higher score in the Graduation degree.
The merit list will be valid for six months from the date of declaration of result.
